AIIB reported US$3.7bn of financing in Uzbekistan and aligned a prospective US$4bn country investment programme with national priorities.
AIIB reported that its Uzbekistan portfolio had reached US$3.7bn, making the country its seventh-largest client globally. The figure describes the Bank’s portfolio and should not be interpreted as cash fully disbursed during 2025.
Recent programme milestones included US$1bn for water, US$300m for power-transmission modernisation and US$173.5m for local roads in Karakalpakstan and Khorezm, including a US$71.1m first tranche.
AIIB and Uzbekistan were also aligning a prospective US$4bn country investment programme. The scale signals a deep sovereign-infrastructure pipeline and co-financing scope across water, power, transport, cities, renewables and climate resilience.
