The project provided US$50m of concessional financing. Up to 11 regional IT-enabled-services centres were planned. Around 6,200 young people were to be trained, including 3,100 women and 250 persons with disabilities.
The project targeted employment for about 9,000 young people and attraction of around 240 new ITES companies. By 2029, the sector target was 25,000 ITES jobs plus about 15,000 related jobs; IT-service exports had risen from US$0.6m in 2017 to US$140m in 2022.
The project strengthened the regional talent and office infrastructure needed for exportable services, improving the investment case for IT outsourcing and digital platforms.
