Uzbekistan's Women, Business and the Law score increased by 11.9 points to 82.5 out of 100. Uzbekistan ranked among the five largest improvers in the 2024 study.
The assessed reforms included equal remuneration for work of equal value. Legal restrictions on women's employment in specified jobs were removed. Reforms also strengthened protections in marriage and domestic-violence legislation.
For investors, stronger labour and legal standards can widen the available talent pool and support ESG positioning, although the index measures laws rather than full enforcement.
