Uzbekistan officially submitted its updated Nationally Determined Contribution, NDC 3.0, under the Paris Agreement. The country committed to cut greenhouse-gas emissions intensity per unit of GDP by 50% by 2035 relative to 2010.
The target concerns emissions intensity, not an absolute 50% reduction in national emissions. The document was prepared with participation from government, the private sector, civil society, international financial institutions and UNDP and was scheduled for presentation at COP30.
The commitment strengthens the policy basis for renewable energy, efficiency, green bonds and transition finance. Investors should expect increasing importance of credible baselines, project-level carbon measurement, disclosure and alignment between corporate capex and national targets.
