Bilateral trade reached US$1.3bn in 2022, up about 30% year on year and sevenfold over the preceding years. The leaders prioritized projects supported by the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Development Fund.
Target sectors included industrial cooperation, textiles, energy, mining and agriculture. The summit followed completion of the bilateral border-delimitation process.
The fund-backed channel and clearer border framework improve execution prospects for joint industrial and logistics projects, although the release did not quantify already financed transactions.
