Preliminary real GDP growth accelerated to 8.7% year on year in Q1 2026, while current-price output reached UZS 447.9 trillion. The result signals strong activity but also raises the importance of capacity and inflation monitoring.
Uzbekistan’s gross domestic product increased by 8.7% in real terms in January–March 2026, according to preliminary data from the National Statistics Committee. GDP at current prices reached UZS 447.9 trillion.
The Committee reported current-price GDP of UZS 372.8 trillion for the first quarter of 2025, UZS 276.9 trillion for 2024 and UZS 228.9 trillion for 2023. The nominal comparison includes price changes; the 8.7% figure is the relevant measure of real year-on-year expansion in the release.
For investors, the pace points to strong operating momentum across the economy and can support corporate revenue and transaction pipelines. It also increases the need to monitor capacity constraints, wage and price pressure, imports, fiscal demand and the monetary-policy response, as rapid aggregate growth does not translate uniformly into issuer-level profitability.
