Uzbekistan placed a UZS 4.25tn sovereign green Eurobond on the London Stock Exchange. A separate conventional sovereign tranche raised US$660m.

The local-currency green tranche was described as the first UZS-denominated sovereign green bond and the first of its kind in the CIS. The 2–4 October roadshow met more than 50 investors in New York, Boston and London. Eligible uses included water-saving technologies, rail and metro transport, sanitation and forest restoration.

The deal opened a sovereign green and local-currency offshore pricing reference for future Uzbek public and corporate issuers.
