More than 20 contracts and agreements totalling US$1.6bn were signed at the bilateral business forum. Projects covered energy, electrical products, chemicals, mining, textiles, agriculture, pharmaceuticals and leather.
Discussed anchor concepts included an Orascom industrial park and a 100MW wind-power project. The parties called for a joint roadmap to convert agreements into implementation milestones. The number of joint projects and enterprises was reported to have increased sixfold in recent years.
The signed pipeline broadened Uzbekistan's Middle Eastern investor base and potential mandates, but signature is distinct from financial close, capital deployment or commissioning.
