Banking-system assets as of 1 February 2024 were UZS 652.387 trillion, up 17% nominally year on year. Gross loans were UZS 469.600 trillion, up 20% nominally year on year.
Deposits were UZS 242.119 trillion, up 13% nominally year on year. Regulatory capital was UZS 98.482 trillion, up 22% nominally year on year. Real growth adjusted for exchange-rate effects was reported at 12% for assets and 15% for loans.
Separating nominal from exchange-rate-adjusted growth is essential when assessing balance-sheet quality, funding, capital and bank valuations ahead of privatisation.
