Uzbekistan and AIIB signed an updated roadmap through 2026 covering prospective projects worth more than US$4 billion. The existing AIIB project portfolio in Uzbekistan exceeded US$3 billion.
Uzbekistan was described as AIIB's largest beneficiary in the region and sixth globally by transaction volume. Priority areas included poverty reduction, New Tashkent, PPPs, private-sector support and education, water, transport and energy infrastructure. The agreement was reached during AIIB's first annual meeting held in Central Asia.
The roadmap creates a visible multi-year pipeline for co-financing and transaction preparation, but prospective project value is not signed or disbursed financing.
