A US$100m tractor-manufacturing project with Chinese partners is planned in Fergana, with a US$30m first phase and 250 initial jobs.

Uzbekistan presented a US$100m tractor-manufacturing project in the Kuvasoy Industrial Zone, developed through the registered Fergana Tractor Manufacturing Plant with Chinese partners. The first phase is budgeted at US$30m; these are planned investments, not reported expenditure.

Tulpor-branded tractor production was targeted for launch by the end of 2025, followed by local spare-parts manufacturing and service centres. The initial plan included 250 jobs and a 2MW solar system for the plant.

The project offers an import-substitution and supplier-localisation case in agricultural machinery. Investor diligence should focus on commissioning, localisation depth, dealer and service coverage, customer financing and the conversion of planned capex into installed capacity.
