EBRD approved a senior secured loan of up to US$20m for steel-pipe raw materials and upgrades to drinking-water pipe-insulation equipment.
EBRD approved a senior secured loan of up to US$20m for Tashkent Pipe Plant, described as Uzbekistan’s leading private steel-pipe producer. The approved ceiling is not evidence that the entire amount had been drawn when the project was disclosed.
Proceeds are intended for raw materials used in large-diameter steel pipes and upgrades to equipment insulating drinking-water pipes. EBRD attributed 65% of the project to its Green Economy Transition approach and included technical-skills partnerships.
The financing links private manufacturing working capital and equipment modernisation to public water-infrastructure demand. Credit analysis should test utility orders, raw-material price exposure, receivable cycles, capital-expenditure execution and the durability of climate-resilient procurement.
