The EBRD sovereign loan was up to US$238 million (€224 million). The project covers about 81 km of the 4R156 road in Khorezm and a new bridge across the Amu Darya.
The road forms part of CAREC Corridor 2 and connects Urgench with the A380 route towards Kazakhstan. The existing category-II single carriageway is to become a category-I dual carriageway. EBRD had invested about €4.42 billion across 151 Uzbek projects at the time.
The sovereign infrastructure loan supports trade connectivity and follow-on private investment, while 'up to US$238 million' denotes a facility limit rather than verified disbursement.
