ADB’s first Uzbekistan-soum-denominated bond raised UZS 312 billion, approximately US$24.7 million equivalent. The bond was issued in June 2025, priced at par and carried a 14.5% coupon.
Final maturity was three years. Merrill Lynch International arranged the transaction. Proceeds were disbursed to support women-owned enterprises outside Tashkent.
The completed issue provides a new AAA UZS funding benchmark and connects local-currency capital markets with targeted private-sector lending; unlike a target, the proceeds were reported as disbursed.
