ADB approved a US$125m sovereign loan to modernise Uzbekistan’s water utility systems, digital customer services and financial management.
ADB approved a US$125m sovereign loan for Uzbekistan’s Climate-Smart Water Management Improvement Project. Approval establishes the financing commitment; it should not be read as evidence that the full amount had already been disbursed or spent.
The project will modernise asset management, introduce smart water systems and improve energy efficiency and service reliability. Digital customer tools and financial-management software are also intended to strengthen operating transparency at the national utility.
The programme creates a procurement pipeline across metering, software, network equipment and energy-efficiency services. For lenders and contractors, execution quality, utility collections and measurable operating gains will be central to long-term value.
