The main theses of the New Uzbekistan strategy


On September 9, a congress of the Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan (UzLiDeP) was held, where the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan presented in it the basic principles of development in accordance with his election program "Strategy of the New Uzbekistan"


The main directions of the country's development, the President noted the strengthening of peace and stability in the country, further strengthening of ties between citizens and nations, as well as the development of the spiritual stability of the people.


Key points from the President's program:


By the end of 2023, the inflation rate will drop to 5 percent. The state budget deficit will not exceed 2.5% of GDP. Securing newly attracted external debts in the amount of no more than $ 5 billion US dollars.


In order to increase financial resources in the economy, the size of the stock market will increase from $ 200 million to $ 7 billion in the next 5 years. Further, over the next five years, $ 120 billion will be attracted, including at least $ 70 billion in foreign investment.


For the development of industry and infrastructure in the regions, the Development Bank of Uzbekistan will be created.
Thanks to the transformation of the banking system, the share of private banks will reach 60% of total banking assets.


Shavkat Mirziyoyev said that from 2023. the value added tax rate will be reduced from 15% to 12%. Also in the business sector, in particular banking, finance, telecommunications, the income tax rate will be reduced from the current 20% to 15%. In 2022, the corporate property tax rate will also be reduced from 2% to 1.5%.
